Pleasant Memories in Bala Mandir

I took over as Head Mistress of Bala Mandir Vidyalaya last year. Since then, I have been experiencing a very challenging and exciting journey. It was a totally different experience to me when I stepped into this ‘Mandir’ as it is rightly called, in September, 2023.  The cute and innocent faces of the KG children who gave me a warm hug whenever I entered their classroom, moved me a lot. The students from BM had a different story to share with me every morning about their dinner, breakfast, birthdays and petty fights which would gear me up for the rest of the day.

It wasn’t a path of roses. I had a lot of challenges with some tough parents and students. The atmosphere was totally new to me. I realised that it is going to be an uphill battle.  Implementing punctuality without much ruckus among parents was a very tough task.  Each day they had a reason. Slowly I could bring them on track.

A very co-operative team of teachers and support staff, and the guidance and encouragement I received from the Lead Team made even the toughest tasks easy for me to handle. We progressed slowly towards our goal.  Apart from academics, our students and teachers gave their best contribution in cultural activities and sports events. Vidyalaya won the’ Best supporting school’ award from JFK( Enabling Leadership team). We, as a team are very confident that we can achieve great heights, albeit gradually.  Our teachers have also visited homes in the neighbouring community to canvass for admissions. There is a ray of hope that in the near future, we will have parents who throng our doors for admissions. We may have to work tirelessly for this. Of course, there is no gain without pain
