Diwali Donors

Diwali Donors

Spread the love

We have very special donors; in fact, they are two sisters, Mrs. Bhargavi Sundararajan and Mrs. Usha Ranganathan, who have been gifting all our Bala Mandir children with lovely new and colourful clothes every Diwali.

Though living in the US, distance has not stopped them from making this very special contribution to make Diwali an enjoyable festival and bring smiles to the children’s faces every year, over the last five years.

I am so amazed and touched by the personal interest they take in organising this for the children. The process starts a month and half before Diwali and they have a tailor from RASI (Radha Silk Emporium) to visit Bala Mandir and take the measurements of each and every child. They also check with us regarding our preference and need in material type and style if any. Mrs. Bhargavi then coordinates with RASI online, to choose the materials for the girls and boys of different age groups. The dresses are then made with care and delivered to us at Bala Mandir well before the festival.

The sisters don’t just stop with the clothes. They also encourage us to buy accessories like neck chains, bangles, bindis, rubber bands and hair clips for the girls and a small gift for the boys as well. Their representative Mr. Thangamani, who is in Chennai, takes equal interest in coordinating all of this for us year after year!

We are extremely grateful to Mrs. Bhargavi Sundararajan and Mrs. Usha Ranganathan, to be recipients of such kindness and look forward to their long-term association with Bala Mandir.  Their gesture really made me realise that when one truly wants to give, to make others happy, nothing can stop them from doing so !

The greatest happiness is to make others happy. Mrs Bhargavi and Mrs Usha, for sure, are the happiest lot! God bless them and their families for this good-will gesture!
