Lakshmi Gopal is a librarian, social worker, and parenting counsellor with a focus on psycho - social aspects of child development . She has dedicated her voluntary work to benefit children and parents from all walks of life. She has been an Executive Council Member in Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust Chennai, an orphanage for destitute children for over 25 years, and an active member of Bala Mandir Research Foundation, a unit of BMKT. She has completed a Lay Counsellors Programme with Aapta Salaha Kendra, a NIMHANS partner, and has authored parenting songs and videos.
